Software Engineer

We are looking for candidates to work on a variety of exciting, challenging and diverse software projects. The projects require specialty skills in a variety of areas - including 2D graphics, GDI programming and Win32, image processing and algorithm development, building GUI's for MS Windows environments, web protocols (ie. HTTP, SOAP, XML), web services, directory services, database systems or XQuery.

Essential Skills
These roles require candidates to have approximately 3-4 years commercial experience with C and/or C++ on both Windows and Unix platforms. All roles will see you working in a close team environment. You will need to possess strong problem solving and good communication skills. Relevant tertiary qualifications are mandatory.

Research Engineer

CISRA requires additional research engineers to work in the fields of colour image processing, including registration, enhancement and compression. Research work is focused primarily on a growing number of digital imaging applications in the broad fields of digital photography, and printing.

Essential Skills
This role calls for a capable independent thinker, typically with a PhD in physics, engineering or computer science, though equivalent industrial experience would be considered. A successful applicant will have strong knowledge of digital image and signal processing theory and application including Fourier theory. They will have experience with colour image processing and a solid understanding of colour science and human visual perception. Experience or prior research work in the areas of compression, colour science or image quality assessment will be highly regarded. Familiarity with C/C++ programming is also required.

Test Engineer

This role involves working on new technologies to develop the next generation of Canon Australia's advanced digital imaging solutions. If you like to develop exciting solutions through to implementation in the real world then this job is for you.

Essential Skills
We are looking for a person that not only knows how to find defects, but a person that can diagnose and analyse defects as well. You must have experience in managing all aspects of testing, including the software development lifecycle. Essential technical skills include C, C++ and/or Java. The successful candidate must have excellent communication skills and be a team player.

Testers (3-6 Month Contract)

There are a number of projects that are related to in-house business applications. These projects require familiarity, experience and skills with MS Office applications and underlying technologies found in business servers. The nature of the work assignments are to test the recently built in-house applications and to analyse and compare commercial applications and draft a report with recommendations.

Essential Skills
The successful candidate will be required to be familiar with web application testing with 3 or more years commercial experience as a tester. CSTP or equivalent certification will be highly regarded. We require the candidate to have knowledge and experience of Oracle databases, testing client server applications and report writing.
